Mid-Currituck Bridge Draft Enviromental Impact Statement

North Carolina's Infrastructure is Key to a Healthy Economy

North Carolina's beauty continues to entice new residents at record levels. A vibrant economy, supported by a well developed infrastructure, draws businesses to the state, creating jobs and fueling economic growth. As North Carolina continues to see unprecedented growth, the demands on public infrastructure to support these new citizens continues to increase.

The North Carolina Turnpike Authority was created in 2002 by the General Assembly in response to concerns about rapid growth, heavy congestion and dwindling resources. The Turnpike Authority is authorized to study, plan, develop, construct, operate and maintain up to nine projects.
